Hi! I’m Nancy.
I’ve struggled with my weight for a while. I used to be fairly slim, and didn’t really have to put any thought or effort into the way I ate, until I had my first child – then BAM! I gained weight throughout the pregnancy that refused to come off once I’d given birth. Eating the way I had before pregnancy didn’t work either, because I wasn’t eating nutritious food, I was eating convenience food – I was up all night with the baby and too exhausted to even think about cooking properly.
It can be really hard when you spend so much time looking after other people, or when you’re stuck in work all day, to even think about looking after yourself. It’s easy to get stuck in a rut with what you eat and how you eat, and to make excuses for why you don’t exercise or to not go to the gym. Trust me, I’ve been there.
But I was fed up. I knew something had to change, and so I browsed the internet. Search term: “weight loss”. What do you think I found? Page after page of fad diets. Page after page of very low calorie diets. Page after page of dangerous advice and people selling dangerous supplements. I tried a few diets – sure. I didn’t feel good about myself and I wanted to lose weight quickly. But I felt weak, wobbly, and I had a headache the whole time I was on any of those stupid diets. And do you know why? It’s because my body wasn’t getting enough of the nutrients it needed to keep me going.
Since then, I’ve become determined to bust the myth that the most popular low calorie diets are the best option for weight loss. The best way to lose weight – always – is to eat a well-balanced diet combined with an exercise regime. But it needs to be something that you, and you alone, can stick to, maintain and sustain. It also needs to include the food that you love. You don’t need to eat food that you don’t like. You don’t need to take 6 supplements a day. You don’t need to drink special juices. Weight loss that you can sustain in the long term is simple, I promise.
Come back and visit me as often as you like. I’ll be updating regularly with recipes, articles and blogs, that all designed to change your life for the better – and that are all super simple.
